Air Travel Reservations

Our computer reservation system enables our staff to research your requirements and then identify, from the schedules and tariffs  of hundreds of the world's airlines (including over 140 "no frills" airlines) the optimum solution for your business travel needs. You will also benefit from our specially negotiated fares (from one of the two largest such fare programs in the UK) as well as our searches into the city breaks and other fares markets.

We can frequently show that non-experts trying to do expert’s work results in travel purchases that are less favourable than we could have obtained.

Airline Failure Guarantee

In the current highly competitive climate within the airline industry, there continues to be a significant risk of more airlines falling into receivership or bankruptcy.

Until the CAA introduces the mandatory scheme for all providers to subscribe to a centrally managed fund to safeguard passengers' interests (currently under consideration and planned also to cost £2.00), we strongly believe that clients should be protected from losing money should airlines fail – a risk made all the more likely during the present period of economic uncertainty – and we therefore take out insurance on our clients’ behalf.

Due to recent Government regulation, and in spite of our staff gaining ABTA insurance qualifications, it was ruled that, as from 1st January 2009, and along with all other Travel Management Companies, we are no longer allowed to sell Airline failure Insurance to our clients, without a prohibitively expensive licence from the FSA.

In spite of most of the airline business we conduct being subject to contracts directly between our clients and the airlines, our insurance will enable us to compensate you for any loss you may experience (up to a limit of £1500 per ticket) through a failed airline not being able to provide the service for which you have committed or made payment.

We are sorry for any inconvenience this change in our arrangements may cause, but hope you agree it is the best way of handling the situation.

Airport Hotel Reservations

Driving to the airport in your pyjamas? Why not choose from our range of airport hotels, many with inclusive or preferential long term parking - it can cost less than parking alone.
 

Airport Lounges

An increasing number of our clients are saving money by utilising economy fares and the low fares we are offering on No-Frills carriers. Whilst this represents a good saving they do not provide the benefits of the lounge facilities offered to Club Class travellers. We find that travellers frequently prefer to avoid the worst times on the M25 by arriving early and accepting the opportunity of a pre-booked lounge at Gatwick for £17.95. They can access the lounge up to 3 hours prior to departure and relax in a stress-free environment whilst enjoying breakfast snacks, drinks, newspapers and Business facilities if so required - a much better use of their time than sitting in a traffic jam wondering if they will miss their flight!
 

Airport Parking

We can arrange pre-booking of a parking space to save you time and money.  We also offer a meet & greet parking option in which you book to be met at the terminal and someone parks your car for you and brings it back to the terminal on your return journey. This is the ultimate hassle-free car parking solution, saving you time in transfers and touring the carparks in buses, as well as perhaps lugginig heavy baggage around, at both ends of your journey.

Complaint Handling

There will inevitably be occasions when a travel vendor does not satisfy a traveller, and Medway Travel will be pleased to take up your case for you with the provider involved. We maintain a strong relationship with many of the vendors and can usually obtain a fair outcome.
 

Meet and Greet Service

Medway Travel can arrange on request, a ‘meet and greet’ service at most major airports to meet travellers, to guide and assist them through the airport from arrival to departure, at both ends of their journey, as well as with transfers and other procedural challenges.

This is particularly helpful in the case of VIPs, the frail and elderly or invalids travelling on their own.
 

Refunds

Our consultants will use all the accepted methods to obtain justifiable refunds for clients who have had to alter or cancel their bookings. These will often be subject to vendor charges, which on occasion are higher than the refund due, in which case we will advise accordingly. Please bear in mind that some vendors’ refund procedures are particularly slow, and can take months to reach a conclusion.

View your Itinerary

The ViewTrip facility allows you to view the detailed real time itinerary of your confirmed bookings

After clicking on the Hyperlink that your Medway Travel consultant generates and sends you by email, you can view and print your online travel documents – i.e. your E-ticket receipts.

Wireless applications which can access the Internet can access ViewTrip. To access your ViewTrip itinerary via a wireless application, go to https://www.viewtrip.com, then:

1. Select preferred language from the drop down list.
2. Enter the 6 character reservation number provided by the travel provider of the itinerary you would like to view.
3. Enter the last name of the passenger corresponding to the 6 character reservation number.
4. Click Sign In. ViewTrip also provides valuable information on the following:

24 Hour Emergency Helpline

This Medway Travel service is for the use of our travellers and clients’ travel bookers, at any time outside normal office hours (which are 08.30 - 17.30 hours, weekdays except bank holidays), and enables clients to make last minute bookings or make changes to their existing arrangements.

Because traveller information and itineraries are permanently available via our computer systems, the travel consultants are instantly able to take care of any unexpected last-minute changes to business travellers’ plans.
