Air Travel Reservations

Our computer reservation system enables our staff to research your requirements and then identify, from the schedules and tariffs of hundreds of the worlds airlines, the perfect solution for your business travel needs while you will benefit from any of our specially negotiated fares and rates.

We can frequently show that non-experts trying to do expert’s work results in travel purchases that are less good value than we could have obtained.

Airline Failure Insurance

In the current highly competitive climate within the airline industry, there continues to be a significant risk of more airlines falling into receivership or bankruptcy.

It is for this reason that the DTI and travel industry bodies recommend all providers of air tickets, to cover their sale with an Airline Failure Insurance policy, on behalf of their clients. This ensures that ticket holders will be compensated if the airline on which they are about to travel, or on which they have partly completed their journey, ceases to be able to fulfil the remaining obligation to provide the transport for which the traveller has paid (or committed to pay).

The contract for an air ticket bought from an agent, is between the airline and the traveller, thus the agent or travel management company is not responsible for carrying the risk. This is why Medway Travel arranges to cover, at a charge of £2.00 per trip, all air ticket sales not covered by other policies. It provides reimbursement of up to £1,500, should the purchaser be unable to complete the ticketed journey due to the airline's financial failure.

Until the CAA introduces the mandatory scheme for all providers to subscribe to a centrally managed fund to achieve these ends (currently under consideration and planned also to cost £2.00), we will continue to cover our clients' air tickets as described above.

 

Airport Hotel Reservations

Driving to the airport in your pyjamas? Why not choose from our range of airport hotels, many with inclusive holiday parking - it can cost less than parking alone.
 

Airport Lounges

An increasing number of our clients are saving money by utilising economy fares and the low fares we are offering on No-Frills carriers. Whilst this represents a good saving they do not provide the benefits of the lounge facilities offered to Club Class travellers. We find that travellers frequently prefer to avoid the worst times on the M25 by arriving early and accepting the opportunity of a pre-booked lounge at Gatwick for £17.95. They can access the lounge up to 3 hours prior to departure and relax in a stress-free environment whilst enjoying breakfast snacks, drinks, newspapers and Business facilities if so required - a much better use of their time than sitting in a traffic jam wondering if they will miss their flight!
 

Airport Parking

We can arrange pre-booking of a parking space to save you time and money.  We also offer a chauffeured parking option in which you book to be met at the terminal and someone parks your car for you - this is the ultimate hassle-free car parking solution.

Complaint Handling

There will inevitably be occasions when a travel vendor does not satisfy a traveller, and Medway Travel will be pleased to take up your case for you with the provider involved. We maintain a strong relationship with many of the vendors and can usually obtain a fair outcome.
 

Emergency Helpline

This Medway Travel service is for the use of our travellers and clients’ travel bookers, outside normal office hours, and enables clients to make last minute bookings or make changes to their existing arrangements – 24 hours a day. Because traveller information and itineraries are permanently available via our computer systems, the travel consultants are instantly able to take care of any unexpected last-minute changes to business travellers’ plans.

 

Meet and Greet Service

Medway Travel can arrange on request, a ‘meet and greet’ service at most major airports to meet travellers, to guide and assist them through the airport from arrival to departure, at both ends of their journey, as well as with transfers and other procedural challenges.

This is particularly helpful in the case of VIPs, the frail and elderly or invalids travelling on their own.

Refunds

Our consultants will use all the accepted methods to obtain justifiable refunds for clients who have had to alter or cancel their bookings. These will often be subject to vendor charges, which on occasion are higher than the refund due, in which case we will advise accordingly. Please bear in mind that some vendors’ refund procedures are particularly slow, and can take months to reach a conclusion.
