Spas to be added to country house hotels
Refurbishment work at Homewood Park and Ston Easton Park, both near Bath; The Greenway, near Cheltenham; and Buckland Manor, near Broadway; has seen bedrooms revamped as well as all public areas.
New spas are to be created at each property as part of on-going improvements at a cost of almost £10 million over the next few years.
Homewood Park near Bath is the perfect home-away-from-home, offering an exclusive country retreat in which to relax, rejuvenate and refresh. With an impressive exterior, as well as super stylish interiors, this luxury country house hotel is idyllically located in the jaw-dropping Limpley Stoke Valley, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Following a recent complete refurbishment, Homewood Park has been transformed into a spectacular sanctuary offering 19 sumptuous bedrooms, most of which overlook the multi award-winning 10 acres of stunning gardens.
Surrounded by acres of stunning gardens, yet just six miles from the Georgian city of Bath, Homewood Park really does offer the perfect combination of luxury country house living and city chic.
The Main House at The Greenway in Cheltenham has undergone a major transformation with all of the eleven bedrooms being totally refurbished. The designs have succeeded in capturing the historical spirit of The Greenway whilst injecting a taste of modernity and contemporary stylishness. Original wooden furniture, new ultra-comfortable beds and tastefully vibrant soft furnishings have been blended together to create the feeling of a luxurious home away from home.
In keeping with the bedrooms, the restaurant, lounges and bar are cloaked with an air of dignified style and sophisticated elegance creating a warm ambience and welcome as soon as they step through the front door.
A superb Palladian mansion set in one of the West Country's most romantic estates, Ston Easton Park exudes elegance, warmth and comfort. Log fires burn, comfortable antique furniture and exquisite paintings beckon, evoking memories of a more leisured age and providing a welcome you might associate with a magnificent private country house. There is little that can compare with the well preserved classicism of Ston Easton Park.
The Library and the magnificent State Rooms are always greatly appreciated by guests, including one of England's earliest surviving Print Rooms with its reminders of the grand tours undertaken in the 18th Century. The Palladian Saloon has been described as 'one of the finest rooms in Somerset' and for luxury accommodation near Bath or Wells, Ston Easton Park cannot be equalled.
Guests often delight in going 'below stairs' to the Edwardian Kitchen, still preserved as it was in its Georgian heyday, complete with sparkling copper pans and cooking facilities of the period.
Set in the idyllic surroundings of the Mendip Hills, the house is surrounded by thirty six acres of classic parkland, the stunning Victorian kitchen garden which produces much of the organic produce served in the restaurant, and the cascading River Norr.
Situated just 11 miles from the historic city of Bath and 15 minutes from Wells, the smallest city in England, Ston Easton Parkis an ideal base for touring the West Country.
Buckland Manor, near Broadway, dates back to the thirteenth century and is set in glorious grounds featuring immaculate gardens with running stream, small waterfalls, croquet lawns and tennis courts.
Buckland Manor overlooks the archetypal Cotswolds village of Buckland, a smaller version of nearby Broadway but without the hordes of visitors.
Above all, the Buckland Manor provides peace and tranquillity, combined with international standards of comfort, that the discerning guest has a right to expect.
