Emirates to open Manchester Lounge

Emirates will move into Terminal 1 at Manchester airport this June, becoming the first non-UK airline to open a dedicated lounge at the facility later this year.

The 800-sqm lounge will be constructed in the airport’s Terminal 1, and is expected to open in “late summer”. The new lounge coincides with Emirates’ shift from the airport’s Terminal 2 to Terminal 1 on June 1, which will also give the carrier the capability to serve the city with its A380 superjumbo in the future.

The lounge will feature floor-to-ceiling windows, seating for 180 passengers, shower facilities, a business centre, complimentary wifi internet access, hot and cold food and a full bar service.

Emirates currently serves Manchester twice-daily from Dubai, andthe new lounge signifies the importance of the city within the airline’s network. Indeed Emirates is stepping up its operations at other UK regional airports, having recently upped capacity at Birmingham airport.
