Cruising holidays grow further in 2010
Fifteen new ships set to launch next year
The cruise market has developed beyond all expectations over the last few years, with new and more innovative liners continually being introduced.
Far from its former, sometimes considered sober, image, a carefully selected cruise can truly provide a holiday to suit anyone - whatever their preferences. Numerous things to do for the active, plenty of places to relax for those looking for peace and quiet, an extensive choice of cuisine throughout the day, nightly entertainment , not forgetting the variety of destinations you will visit. Most importantly, the major parts of your holiday are included, allowing you to budget easier in advance.
To name just a few of the newcomers for 2010:
Costa Cruises- Costa Deliziosa
Launching in February, she sets off on a 20 night maiden voyage from Savona to Dubai, cruising the Arabian Gulf until May, and then relocating to the Norwegian fjords for the summer.
Facilities include a 4-D cinema, Grand Prix simulator and roller-skating track.
P & O Cruises - Azura
Taking to the seas in April, Azura will cruise from Southampton to the Mediterranean, Baltic, Norwegian fjords and Canary Islands in summer, moving to Barbados in the winter for Caribbean sailings.
The ship will present the first Indian restaurant at sea, and P & O's first wine bar and restaurant.
Holland America - Nieuw Amsterdam
Departing July 4th, this ship makes its inaugural visit from Venice, staying in the Mediterranean until October when it relocates to Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Facilities include a pan-Asian restaurant, family-style Italian diner, and a Culinary Arts Centre for cookery demonstrations.
Royal Caribbean - Allure of the Seas
Sister to Oasis of the Seas, the largest cruise ship in the world, Allure of the Seas will be sailing Caribbean cruises from Fort Lauderdale. The ship sets sail in December 2010
Like the Oasis, the Allure will feature an AquaTheatre, zipline and a Central Park outdoor area.
