Procedure change for Russian visa applications

We understand that the Russian Embassy now requires a UK company letter for all business applications, not just for multiple entry applications.

The application form that British passport holders are asked to complete has recently been changed. The Consulate is being extremely strict when examining application forms.

Please see the following guidance notes to help with any forthcoming application: 

UK PASSPORT HOLDERS ONLY: RUSSIA VISA APPLICATION FORM INSTRUCTIONS

The form should be typed and then printed off.
The only handwriting should be the applicant’s signature.
Any handwriting, other than your signature, or correction fluid on the form will result in a rejection.

ALL QUESTIONS MUST BE ANSWERED

For any question, if extra space is required to answer it, attach an A4 sheet with the information typed on it.

Q 9: The dates of Entry and Exit must match or fall within the period specified in the invitation.
Q 12: Applicants with a normal passport should select the option TOURIST, irrespective of the type of visa they are applying for.
Q 13: Tourist applicants must put the name and reference number of the host tourist company as detailed on the tourist invitation.
Q 13: Business applicants must put the host organization as detailed on the business invitation and city or town. We recommend you obtain a translation into English by whomever is supplying the invitation for you.
Q 14: Applicants must put the place or places of their visit as detailed on their invitation
Q 34: You must include a phone number. Other details can be abbreviated or all details can be supplied as an attachment typed on A4 paper.
Q.36: If the application has been completed by anybody other than the applicant, kindly provide the address of that person.
Q.38: You must include a phone number. Other details can be abbreviated or all details can be supplied as an attachment typed on A4 paper.
Q 39: If born in Russia or the erstwhile USSR, please indicate when, why and to what country the applicant emigrated.
Q 40: You must include a phone number. Other details can be abbreviated or all details can be supplied as an attachment typed on A4 paper. Retired applicants or housewives should mention Not Applicable and students should provide details of their educational organization.

If this service receives a form which has errors and requires urgent submission they will automatically provide this form filling service. If you would prefer us to withhold submission until the issues are resolved, let us know and we will notify our Consular office when we forward your applications.
