April
Grand National, 8th - 10th April
The Grand National, widely regarded as the greatest steeplechase in the world, is the highlight of a three-day meeting at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool.
On race day, the event attracts more than 100,000 spectators to the course, with millions more watching on television. Why not be part of the atmosphere this year, and pay a visit?
Antigua Sailing Week, 24th - 30th April
Combine famous Antiguan hospitality with some of the best sailing conditions in the world, and you have here in the Caribbean, one of the world’s premier sailing regattas.

May Day Music Festival, Rome, 1st May
Held in Piazza San Giovanni, this annual event heralds the beginning of Spring, with a celebration of music, welcoming musicians from around the world.
Cannes Film Festival, 12th - 23rd May
Founded in 1939, this is one of the oldest and most prestigious film festivals in the world. Held at the Palais des Festivals in this renowned resort, this offers the ultimate hotspot for celebrity spotting.

29th Annual Steamboat Marathon, Colorado, 6th June

Looking for a run with a difference! This annual event in Steamboat Springs has been voted one of the most scenic, winding through the beauty of the Rockies. For the less energetic, it also offers a Half Marathon and Fun Run.
San Diego County Fair, 12th June - 5th July
San Diego's 2009 County Fair takes place at the Del Mar Fairgrounds, one of the most beautiful ocean view venues in the nation. This year's theme, "Music Mania," celebrates marching bands and musicians.
Held originally in 1880, the County Fair continues today, now attracting crowds of over 100,000. Highlights include fabulous food, shopping, competitions, art exhibits and much more.
July
Tour de France, 3rd - 25th July
This year's famous cycling event starts in Rotterdam, continuing through Belgium on to its customary French ground - 3,600 kilometres in all. Make a date along the way and watch the enthusiastic multicoloured riders go by.
Calgary Stampede, Canada, 9th - 18th July

For 10 days every summer, Calgary comes alive with the excitement of the Old West. From the world famous Chuckwagon Races to the Rodeo, from bull riding to barrel racing, and from pancake breakfasts to glittering fireworks. And what a setting! – The ideal excuse to visit the beautiful Rockies of Western Canada.
August
Jahrmarkt, Kitsbuhel, 1st August
This major annual festival, has become a popular tradition for the Austrian resort of Kitsbuhel, and is now approaching its 90th year. Local music, food stalls, and a wealth of entertainment are featured, with free buses available to take guests to and from the event.
Edinburgh Military Tattoo, 6th - 28th August
2010 marks the Diamond Jubilee of Edinburgh's celebrated Military Tattoo. Set against the fabulous backdrop of Edinburgh Castle the 60th anniversary celebration will feature colour and ceremony from around the world, from Army Bands and Highland Dancers to Motorcycle and Gymnastic displays.
