|
Below, we have provided sample itineraries and event suggestions that we have created for other clients, which may help to inspire you and give you a flavour of how our Groups and Events team can assist you, to ensure you have a FANTASTIC event.
Please bear in mind that these are just examples that we have experience of - whatever destination you choose for your next event, our Groups and Events team will be delighted to tailor a conference, meeting, exhibition or team building break to your exact requirements to any destination worldwide.
The Grand Hotel
The Grand Hotel is one of theUK’s most magnificent Victorian hotels. Situated on the seafront at Eastbourne, it dominates the shoreline and enjoys a stunning outlook over the sea and, to the right, the cliffs at Beachy Head.
Built in 1875, it has welcomed many of the great and the good over the years including Winston Churchill, Charlie Chaplin and Edward Elgar. Today, the Grand Hotel has been sympathetically restored to meet 21st century requirements. Its elegant accommodation, excellent food and superb leisure facilities make it a wonderful, aspirational venue.
Affectionately known as ‘The White Palace’, the Grand Hotel is a luxury, 5-star hotel with 152 rooms, many overlooking the sea
Situated just 1 hour and 20 minutes fromLondon, with 2 direct trains per hour from Victoria and 45 minutes from Gatwick airport and within 1 hour of the M25.
The Grand Hotel lends itself to a coastal incentive weekend for delegates and their partners, and we propose a programme similar to that detailed on the Itinerary tab, but we will tailor-make an incentive weekend to meet your exact requirements.
Example Itinerary
Day One
Private group check in in one of the impressive Victorian lounges, to allow for personal and swift registration.
You will receive a very warm welcome, with a Traditional English Afternoon Tea served either on the Chatsworth Terrace or Great Hall.
In the early evening, take a cocktail cruise around Beachy head, taking in the magnificent views of the South Downs National Park and Eastbourne from the sea.
Your pre-dinner drinks will be servied by a one hour open bar, with nibbles on the hotel terrace affording magnificent sea views (or one of the elegant private rooms if weather inclement)
For dinner, we suggest a Barbecue by the outdoor pool, overlooking the sea, again allowing for privacy and a relaxing environment or an informal buffet in one of the hotel’s elegant private rooms. Half a bottle of wine per person is included and the resident Jazz band will entertain.
Lastly, retire to your luxurious bedrooms.
Day Two
Set up for the day with the most traditional of English breakfasts in the Garden Restaurant.
Delegates
Inspire your team with a motivational morning meeting inclusive of flipchart, pads, pens and cordials and water in the room.
A morning coffee break with the Chef’s home made shortbread will be served mid morning. Then, 'The Grand' working lunch will be delivered to your meeting room, inclusive of half a bottle of wine or soft drinks per person.
For The Partners
Treatments are available at the hotel's spa, or we suggest an excursion to one of the local attractions which include The English Wine Centre, Glyndebourne, Alfriston, or the Brighton Lanes (to name but a few!)
Afternoon Team Building Activities
These can be as varied as you wish, from a team participation event entitled ‘I’m a Corporate Celebrity Get Me Out of Here’ (see below for details) a survival skills from Ray Mears trained staff at Wilderness Events, Bike hire to explore Friston Forest or simply enjoy a long walk across the South Downs. For something slightly different we can also arrange events such as interactive treasure hunts and the Italian Job in minis!
For water lovers a thrilling powerboat trip can be arranged fromSovereignHarbourensuring adrenaline junkies are well catered for!
I'm a Corporate Celebrity Get Me Out of Here
The challenge can start at your company Board Room or at The Grand Hotel, where your group is split into 2 rival groups and kitted up with survival outfits.
The aim is to get from the Concrete Jungle to the Amazon Jungle competing against the other group using various cryptic clues, maps and GPS to get to the site before the Amazon ration Store closes.
The first clue is to locate your transport (if required), then to collect Amazon currency en route at various rendezvous points. This currency helps purchase survival items from the rations Store such as – loo roll, shelter, food, water, fire-lighters. There is a ration Store Price List where you must debate and decide on what the group needs to survive.
There are communication hurdles along the way as members of the camps individually lose the ability to see, hear, walk and talk. This will test your team’s entrepreneurial spirit to the max!
The team’s exploits will all be recorded on video and played back to the group! – Especially fun over dinner!
Pre-dinner drinks will be enjoyed with nibbles at music from the resident Jazz Band at the one hour open bar.
Your Gala dinner this evening can follow any theme you wish. Suggestions include:
- A Black Tie Gala Dinner in the hotel's elegant Compton room. With original Victorian features and stained glass windows - this is the perfect back drop for a musical event. The hotel is steeped in musical history, so embrace it with a musical interactive murder mystery hosted by Twisted Events Company. Tables will be dressed in black and white with musical centre pieces.
- 'Lets Dance - Learn to dance the 'Strictly' way with a Big Band to boot! After dinner, the party continues with the band playing contemporary music and requests. A silver glitter ball is essential for this one.
- The Ultimate Tasting Dinner - Enjoy a luxurious evening in the award winning Mirabelle Restaurant, offering contemporary cuisine in elegant surroundings and a very special 7 course tasting menu, together with accompanying wines. (The Mirabelle may also be booked for exclusive use). The resident pianist will provide delightful background music.
Overnight in one of the hotel's luxurious bedrooms, based on double occupancy.
Day Three
Full English breakfast will be served in the hotel's Garden Restaurant, or you may prefer to relax with breakfast served to your room.
Morning Pursuits
Powerboat trips from the sovereign harbour offering wonderful views of the South Downs. For those who prefer to keep their feet firmly on dry ground, time to enjoy any of the hotel’s superb facilities – a swim or gym session in the health club, or perhaps a bike ride across the downs. A more sedate option might be a game of tennis or a round of golf on the Eastbourne Royal.
A farewell seaside buffet lunch will be served, with a seafood buffet starter, followed by traditional fish and chips. Local ice creams will set you on your way. Inclusive of a half bottle of house wine and coffee per person.
