Myself and my partner had an amazing holiday and cannot fault anything. We would llike to thank Mel at Medway for all that she arranged for us especially the hotel rooms in both countries, they were FANTASTIC! 

Having our Medway Travel pack to take away with us, helped us to relax and know that our holiday bookings were in safe hands and we had everything we needed.

We were certainly worn out when we got home after all the touring and walking, but we have seen so much and made lots of memories from both Iceland and New York. We were unfortunate to not see the Northern Lights because of the weather, but hopefully we will get another oportunity in the future as this is something we certainly would like to tick off our list of things to see!!

We will certainly be booking with Medway Travel for any trips we look to plan in the future, this was a great help.

Hi Astra,

Sonia and I had a fantastic week, thank you. We were very impressed with the whole set up, the hotel was great, but could do with a bit more "entertainment". The equipment provided by Snow Games was of the highest quality and the staff and guides were all very knowledgeable and helpful and the fact that everything was in English was great. Our tour reps, Peter and Lorna were lovely and were always there if we needed them (which we didn't) as once we had everything sorted, it was quite easy to just do our own thing.

The activities were fab. We loved everything (except the ice fishing) and even went back for more cross country skiing and snow shoeing. We tried to keep ourselves busy inbetween activities with tobaggoning and walking round and over the lake, downhill skiing, swims and saunas every afternoon.

Our hope of seeing the northern lights was dashed by cloud cover every day (which did bring lots of snow), but as we left on the plane home, and got over the clouds, there they were which was fantastic.

Speaking to a passenger on the plane on the way home, we realised we were in a smaller resort with none of the "touristy" stuff laid on, for which we were very grateful as we prefer to be more at grass roots level.

All in all a great holiday, and would think again about doing another winter holiday. 

I will definitely be in touch again when I have worked out where Sonia and I are off to on our next adventure!!

Hi Mel,

We had a lovely Christmas, I hope you did too. I think I might go away the week before again, it was so relaxing to know I had an excuse if I had forgotten anything and I didn't go out buying last minute rubbish.
 
The holiday was brilliant, we all enjoyed ourselves and the weather was fantastic. The hotel was far better than I expected for a  3* and a great location for Universal. The flights were on time although the flight home was much better as we had more seat room and films on demand.
 
We didn't need a car and managed perfectly well on the I- trolley and a few taxi's so for 5 days it was fine. 
 
I'll let The Coulsons tell you any other details when they get back from their cruise (lucky them).
 
Thanks for all your help in organising this trip, it's set us up for the January gloom.

We had an absolutely wonderful time, thank you.

All the arrangements went absolutely to plan - it was a very early start for us on the Saturday (we left the house just after 4am), but the transfer by water taxi along the Grand Canal to the hotel made up for this!

The hotel was very good - we had a huge room, and it is very well located - only a few minutes walk from the main sights, but very peaceful.

The opera was a wonderful experience and we enjoyed every minute, even if the surtitles were no help to us, as they were also in Italian!

So we were very sorry to leave Venice yesterday, but it was a great trip.

Dear Astra and Mel,

Just a note to thank you both very much for putting together such a fantastic trip. We returned home on Friday afternoon after a month away and we haven't come back down to earth yet!(Still not quite got over our jet lag either which is why I'm writing this at 6 am!)

Everything worked out fine - the flights were great, especially the new A380 from London - Singapore (I didn't want to get off!!) and apart from a bit of a hiccup at Perth when the check-in lady told us we had too much luggage for an Economy flight (if you remember there was just that one Economy sector to Ayers Rock in our domestic flights), everything was excellent.(We didn't have to pay excess baggage because when she actually put it all through her computer it accepted our baggage without query)
The limousine transfers were always waiting for us at the airport wherever we went and collected us very promptly from our accommodation to return to the airport.
We can heartily recommend all of the hotels/apartments we stayed in and I'm going to post lots of positive feedback on trip advisor. It was a great idea to stay in an apartment occasionally to be able to do some washing and cook our own meals for a change. Highlights of our accommodation were - the breakfast at the Shangri-la in Singapore (more like a 5 course dinner!!), the view of Ayers Rock from our balcony at the Desert Gardens (we had the room with the best view on the complex), the view of Sydney harbour (and the Opera House!) from our room in the Intercontinental, the views of the Brisbane River and city from our balcony at the Medina, the friendliness of everyone at the Meridien in Port Douglas + the luxuriously appointed apartment there. However, the best hotel of all, without a doubt, was the Omni in San Francisco. Everything about it was perfect - its location, the beautiful room but especially its amazing staff. We have never encountered hotel staff like them - everyone you met from the receptionist (who took 15 minutes to talk us through places to visit, transport choices etc.), the concierge, to the chambermaid was just so friendly and welcoming. Every time we returned from an outing we were greeted with "Welcome back!" from everyone we met and we really felt they meant it.
Although we had the worst weather of the trip in San Fran (as you might expect!) it was undoubtedly one of the highlights - we loved it! In addition to your recommendations, Astra, we found 2 excellent restaurants - the Boudin Bistro (famous for the sour dough bread) on Fishermans Wharf where we had a great lunch and a lovely little Italian place called Tommaso's in North Beach.

As I've said everything worked like clockwork. The weather was mostly superb, especially in Perth and Port Douglas, but we even had lots of warm sunshine in Melbourne and Sydney. The only minor disappointment in our itinerary from a personal point of view was Cairns. I took a school trip there 12 years ago and thought it was lovely but it has gone quite "downmarket" since then, appealing more to the backpacker market. The Shangri-la in Cairns was nowhere near the same standard as the Shangri-la in Singapore and it rained for our 2 days there, although we loved the Kuranda train and cable car trip. If we did the same trip again we would spend 5 nights at Port Douglas and give Cairns a miss.

We really cannot thank you enough for all your excellent advice and for working so hard to put together such an amazing itinerary for our trip of a lifetime. Every 'i' was dotted and every 't' was crossed, we just had to 'go with the flow'! It has been an absolute pleasure dealing with you and we are already thinking about our next holiday which we will certainly be asking you to organise!
We would not hesitate to recommend your company to everyone we know. On both price and service you have been unsurpassable. Many thanks!

Thank you so much for the excellent booking & advice that you provided for us! We had a very good time and are just about getting over the jet-lag! The 380 is great, though we only managed to get on the Upper Deck once! but it was worth it.

The stopover hotel (Peninsula Excelsior) was great.

Singapore was Fabulous and Sydney the same! Our son's wedding was marvellous and we have some tremendous memories.

I can only both thank and highly recommend Astra Beadle at Medway Travel for her help and at times 'patience' helping me with various holiday plans. Last year she organised a trip for three of us to travel to Germany to see the 'Passion Play'. This was quite a challenge as the three of us were travelling from Paris, Manchester and Dublin respectively; all planning to meet in Munich and then on to Oberammergau. Astra arranged and booked absolutely everything including flights/hotels/trains - with absolute precision! We were delighted at how the entire holiday ran seamlessly. The standard of the accommodation that Astra allocated for us was outstanding and we truly had a wonderful stay in both Munich and Oberammergau. Medway Travel listens carefully to their customer's needs and responds quickly and efficiently - and possibly of even greater importance - honestly.

This year, Astra has found the perfect location for us in southern Goa. Again, the hotel choice and booking has been straightforward - with Astra providing all the necessary information clearly and promptly. I will definitely continue to book my holidays through Medway travel; their customer service is second to none!

Thanks for the email and we did enjoy our holiday thanks. I would say that the hotel was terrific, the location great - just 5 min walk to the marina and all the local restaurants / shops etc. All the hotel staff were extremely helpful & friendly – the pool area was perfect and the Blue Lagoon Pool bar & service was first rate.

The seafood restaurant on the lake was the best (as seafood lovers) the only down side was that the buffet dinners did get a bit heavy after a few days but with that said the seafood buffet was superb.

All in all a great experience – well worth the money.

I was devastated to think that I may not make it home for Christmas.. with 2 kids and a grandchild anxiously waiting for a phone call. 

My travel agent, Lesley Scutt got on the case.. even staying up through the night on the computer in order to get me out of the first available flight.  We all lifted a glass to her sitting around the table on Christmas day, cheers to you... above and beyond the call of duty. And a very merry time was had by all!

I am now home and settled after an amazing 4 week journey across the US.

The ranch was everything I expected and more, they made me feel so welcome and definately part of the family. I learned new skills and got to ride plenty considering the bad weather.

Because we had such bad weather, there was times when riding was not possible, but instead Tony (ranch owner) took us out to see the other local sites which offered spectacular beauty and far exceeded my expectations...

We returned from Cairo on Thursday evening and I am back at work today.

Can I congratulate your Company on providing a wonderful holiday for my wife and I.
All arrangements were perfect and we were met and escorted from the point of arrival at Luxor.
The cruise on the Nile was excellent and the accomodation, food and general arrangements were very good.
The Guide, Gelal was very knowledgable and really gave us very good information on all the amazing sights of Egypt.
Our Guide only had the two of us to look after, and although this may not be the norm, we fully appreciated this service.

I have other friends who have expressed a desire to go on the same trip and I shall definitely recommend your Company to them.
My thanks to you for arranging this holiday and I will have no reservations whatsoever to recommend your Company to others.

Well I still can't really believe that I did it!
Everything went very smoothly, the ranch was absolutely wonderful. A very family orientated ranch with lots of support for the less well ridden and magnificent rides for those already experienced, which I was able to join in with after just a couple of days of expert tuition. The horses were all well feed and looked after and very well behaved. The accommodation was very good, plenty of room. The food was all home cooked, fresh and delicious. The meals were taken with the family and rest of the guests so I didn't feel like a single traveller, in fact there were two other ladies travelling alone too.
All the connections worked well, I managed to get to an earlier flight from Chicago to Denver as I was ready with my bag.

I would certainly like to go back to the ranch, just need to save up! 

We had a wonderful time in Antigua! Once we'd landed there was someone who whisked us straight through the airport in under 10 minutes, organised our transfer and then the hotel was just perfect!

We went to Shirley Heights on the Sunday for their sunset party and it was definitely worth the trip! 

Overall we both had a fabulous time and it was the perfect choice for our holiday to celebrate our anniversary! I think if we had all the money in the world we would go every year!

We had an amazing time - we absolutely loved it especially the husky sledging. We didn't get to se the Northern Lights unfortunately as it was too cloudy - but it a good excuse to go again next year.

The holiday was fantastic! The hotel was excellent, with the huge breakfasts setting us up for the day.

Having got back last night from our trip to the Nile- a cruise plus a stay in Luxor- I wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed the whole experience.
We are experienced travellers having lived in many countries and travelled widely, and our standards are high, and I can honestly say that the whole Nile experience, thanks to your company, Discover Egypt and Viking was absolutely top class.

The cruise ship, the guides, the general comfort and attention were outstanding- the food too was good, which is not always the case in Egypt, and all in all we were very well looked after and cared for by some very helpful people.

The attention to detail and organisation on board and on shore were really very impressive and contributed to a stress free holiday- what more could one ask for!

Hotel great with fabulous food, but as ever with Italy, not cheap.

Perhaps you remember me...I was going to Oberammergau with my 85 year old mother and mother in law and friend.
We arrived back last night and I just wanted to say thank you! What superb seats we had...my mother in law in particular was abolutely thrilled to be in the front row!! The guest house Eder, In der Riteneau,Oberammergau, was wonderful as was the arrangement for meals within a very short walking distance from the Theatre. We were all so please with the arrangements you made for us.
We also had a successful flight and self drive to stay in a superb hotel in Andechs. It has all been fantastic.
Can I just take this chance to thank you most sincerely for what proved to be a fantastic trip...

Just returned from an absolutely fabulous trip. Many thanks for the bottle of champagne.

Tintswalo - very nice good quality hotel, a pity we only had one night.

Durban, great location and we enjoyed the warmer weather, the description and grading was accurate of the guest house.

Cape Town, very high standard of accommodation and a car was a great benefit, the trip to the township was really interesting , thought provoking and enjoyable, I would highly recommend the trip.

Franschhoek, nice place but a little too far from the town etc which made it a problem for meals and wine tasting as we did not want to drink and drive.

Botswana, we absolutely loved both camps but would say that the standard of accommodation at Kanana was higher than Shinde. The staff were brilliant at both and would highly recommend this to anyone. We saw so many animals !

Livingston, fantastic really high standard hotel, we wish we could have stayed longer. The highlight for me was our trips to Victoria falls.

Lusaka, ok for a one night stop for a flight but not the same standard as the other accommodation. There was nothing nearby so we had to eat at the hotel.

As with the Borneo trip everything worked like clockwork! Many thanks.
