After learning how to handle the team and lunch, you depart into one of Europe's few remaining wilderness areas. The huskies will pull your sled through the beautiful winter landscape close to the Pallas-Ounas National Park, passing through forests, across fells and over frozen lakes and rivers covering up to 40km per day.Only the hiss of the sled's runners breaking through the snow will disturb the perfect silence and you very quickly realise that you have well and truly left behind the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The nights are spent in simple wilderness cabins but you can relax in style while dinner is cooking as a sauna is always heated and ready. Everybody takes care of their own dogs and breakfast and dinners are prepared together. Lunches are eaten by open fires on the trail. This far north there is a great chance of seeing the Aurora Borealis and, with no light pollution, the night time sky can provide the most awe inspiring light show imaginable. After lunch on Friday, the final leg of your adventure takes you back to the Wilderness Centre where there will be a farewell dinner. This is just an example of what to expect but of course there are a huge number of optional extensions to this including stays at the Ice Hotel, Snow Mobiling, Snow Shoeing, Ice Fishing, Reindeer Safari and more.A basic holiday package ranges from £1245.00 per person based upon two people sharing.
