Zambia

Home of the Victoria Falls, the "Smoke that Thunders", and numerous other magnificent waterfalls, spectacular wildlife and superb safaris, Zambia offers great adventures, a rich culture and extremely friendly people.

Victoria FallsZambia Holidays

No trip to Zambia would be complete without visiting the famous Victoria Falls, where the mighty Zambezi plunges over 100 meters into a mile wide ravine, and is at its best in July and August.

The noise and bellowing ‘Mosi-oa-Tunya’ can be experienced from view points in the rain forests, a thrilling helicopter flight over the Falls or on a Zambezi cruise. The more adventurous may enjoy white water rafting, or the ultimate bungee jump from the ridge above the gorge!

South Luangwa National Park

This is one of Zambia’s top National Parks, owing to its scenery, vast variety of animals and wide choice of accommodation.
The central focus of the park is the Luangwa River, which flows year round but can be very low in the dry season. When the water levels are at their lowest, sandbanks are exposed, and this is where you will find hippos and crocodiles basking in the sun.

Big game safaris here are offered in 4x4 vehicles and on foot. There are a range of safari camps offered to guests here, and to gain the most from the National Park, we would suggest spreading your time across at least two camps.

Lower Zambezi National Park

The park is Zambia’s newest, and is situated on a beautiful flood plain along the north-western bank of the mighty Zambezi River, very much a wilderness experience.Zambia Holidays

The Lower Zambezi National Park offers visitors fantastic opportunities to get ‘close and personal’ with the wildlife concentrated along the valley floor – namely huge herds of elephants, along with lions and leopards.

North Luangwa National Park

This National Park provides visitors with some of the most wild experiences in the country, allowing you to experience how Africa used to be.

There are very few roads here, and the park is closed to general public, just opening for limited walking safaris. There are no permanent lodges here – just herds of buffalo and lions. Leopards are also known to have been seen here, although not as commonly as in the South.

Kafue National Park

The Kafue National Park is the largest in Zambia and one of the biggest in the world, at almost the size of Wales. Kafue is not as developed as some of the other National Parks found in Zambia, but offers fantastic game viewing including elephants, lions, hyenas and a huge range of antelope species, along with birdwatching and fishing.

The park is extremely varied in landscape, ranging from the flat Busanga Plains to the lush wetlands of the south.
