Pyrenees Active Adventure
The Catalan Pyrenees has earned itself a fantastic reputation as an activity Mecca, and deservedly so - the variety of activities in the area is incredible, thanks to a fast flowing river and soaring mountain peaks.
The school trips we offer here, based on and around the Noguera Palleresa River, are suitable for children aged 12 and over.

The town provides a great choice of restaurants, with offerings for every palate. If you are planning your school trip for the end of July, the annual fiesta in Sort will prove a real holiday highlight.
Students will love:
- A full day white water rafting
- Supervision from some of the best instructors in Europe
- The challenge of kayaking
- The thrill of hydro speeding
- The canyoning from the stunning mountains
Medway Travel will be delighted to tailor make your school trip to the Catalan Pyrenees with as many activites as preferred.
Below we have provided an example agenda for the week, to give an idea of the activities offered and what they involve.
Day One: Flights, arrival and introduction
You can arrive at your accommodation in the Pyrenean town of Sort throughout the day where there will be an introductory meeting with your guide.
Day Two: National park picnic trek
The Aigues Tortes National Park is a nature lover's paradise: lakes, waterfalls, rugged peaks and pine, birch, fir and beech forests are but a few of the highlights. Your trek amidst 3000m high mountains includes the Sant Maurici Lake and will allow you to experience stunning scenery.
Day Three: Open kayaking
You will have a free morning today before heading onto the water. Your introduction to the Noguera Palleresa River is in inflatable open kayaks - the perfect way to get to know the water! It's just you, a kayak and paddle against the white water as you steer your course downstream. Great fun with an adrenaline rush to match.
Day Four: Canyoning Level 2
A 30 minute uphill walk takes you to your start point. From there you will descend the canyon using a series of natural slides and water chutes as well as abseiling, swimming, leaping and diving.
Day Five: Free Day
Try one of your favourite activities again or sample an array of additional activities available locally including: trekking, mountain biking, horse riding, quad biking, canyoning level 3 and paragliding. Alternatively, why not take a day off and simply relax.
Day Six: AM: Hydrospeeding PM: Kayak course
Hydrospeeding is an awesome adventure sport which gets you as close to the river as possible. Confidence is vital. Wearing a wetsuit, helmet and flippers you will have to steer your beefed up body boards through the rapids of the Noguera Palleresa River. A true adrenaline rush.
Your two hour kayak session will then be held on the Campo de Slalom Course in Sort. Under the tuition of some of Spain's best instructors you will be encouraged to hone your skills and utilise them to negotiate the course.
Day Seven: White water rafting
Quite simply an outstanding day of white water rafting will take you through stunning mountain scenery and thrilling white water rapids. The morning session is followed by lunch before the jaw-dropping descent into the stunning Canyonlands.
A fitting finalé to an exhilarating week.
Day Eight: Depart or extend your stay
Today you will head home or we can arrange fantastic extensions in Barcelona on the northern Spanish coastline.
